ASICS Runs Away With Three Awards From Runner's World

Irvine, CA (November 5, 2008) - ASICS America Corporation is proud to announce that three styles earned awards from Runner's World at the 2008 International Shoe Summit including the coveted "Shoe of the Year" award for the ASICS® GEL-Kayano® 14 running shoe. The awards were presented at a special ceremony held in New York City on Saturday, November 1, 2008.

ASICS has dominated the prestigious International "Shoe of the Year" category by claiming the award three out of the four years since the award's inception. The styles that have taken top honors include the GT-2110™ in 2005, the GEL-Nimbus® 9 in 2007 and the GEL-Kayano 14 in 2008.

Along with this distinguished honor, ASICS also received two additional awards from Runner's World, which are featured in the Winter Shoe Guide (December 2008 issue) on newsstands now. The ASICS® GT-2140™ received the acclaimed "Editor's Choice" award and the GEL-1140™ received the "Best Buy" award. These styles were two of 15 distinguished pairs of shoes that were tested and reviewed by Runner's World to ultimately decide the winners.

Runner's World magazine, the worldwide authority on running information, awards one distinguished shoe style each year, the prestigious "Shoe of the Year" award. The shoe is selected by a panel of International Runner's World editors from the 14 countries in which the magazine is published (Australia/New Zealand, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands/Belgium, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States).

ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 will be updated in January 2009 with the GEL-Kayano 15 retailing for $140.00. The GT-2140 is available now at specialty running retailers for $100.00 and the GEL-1140 is widely available for $85.00. The GT-2140 will be widely available on January 1, 2009.
