January, 2012
ASICS athlete Lolo Jones is back on top after winning the 50-meter hurdles at the U.S. Open of Track & Field at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, January 28, 2012. She finished in 6.78 seconds, the fastest time in the world since 2008.
Jones, the two-time defending World Indoor Champion, had a clean start and outran a field that included many of the nation’s best hurdlers. This is Jones’ second win of the season after having back surgery in August 2011.
“I’m back,” exclaims Lolo Jones. “I finally feel like myself and I’m back on track. This is a great start to the season leading into an Olympic year.”
Jones, an ASICS track and field athlete since 2007, specializes in the 50, 60 and 100-meter hurdles. She holds the American record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.72 seconds.
Up next, Jones will compete in Europe and then at the USA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In July, Jones will make an attempt at her second Olympic Team with the Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
